]]>When did this idea started? Traffic! I have avoided any work that brings me to regular work hours or requires me to travel outside my city. I had suffered mostly after graduating high school when my commute got me further from home. During college I had to go to school in Manila and my classes started around the same time as the office and other schools within the same area not to mention the density of schools, offices and other establishments. I had to wake up crazy hours to at least a lot two hours to make it on time! An hour or 30 minutes later might not cut it close. Sometimes I can get delayed by thirty minutes and sometimes an hour. Better be too early. There was one time where I left the house 3 hours ahead so I can be relaxed before taking a test and have time to study a bit more. As if the universe conspired to play a joke on me, I was late for thirty minutes! Of all the days a fire can break out it has to be at my route and when I have an exam. So much time of our youth wasted! There are also safety issues that all have to worry about. I was fortunate enough not to experience any life threatening encounters however I have seen a couple of times people robbed in front of me while in a jeepney. This got me thinking. What are our options as parents or students or anyone who wants to get their education done at home? Homeschool, right? I did a few digging as I am thinking of this option for my children.
I just found out that there is an organization that aims to equip homeschools and organizations for institutions which offers homeschooling called Homeschool Association Of The Philippine Islands. It is a non-profit and non-stock group supporting existing and new institutions to the growing homeschooling movement. Their aim to make homeschooling recognized as an available and respected form of education.
Below are their listed members including a short description taken from their websites. Included are their contact details. I advise to contact the school for information that are not in their websites or updated informations or questions you may have on their homeschool offering.
“CFA is more than just a school. It’s a home for your family.”
We want your kids to be able to grow up in an environment that’s God-loving, passion-driven, and purpose-oriented. We believe that we shouldn’t let other people take control of our own children’s education. We want only the best for them. That’s why we have Catholic Filipino Academy, or CFA. CFA was founded in 2005 by Bo Sanchez, renowned best-selling author and speaker, after he saw the benefits and blessings of homeschooling his own kids.

We all want what’s best for our children. Instead of just allowing your children to learn… how about teaching them to love learning? Instead of just maximizing their potential… wouldn’t you like them to be a positive influence in their communities and the world? Instead of just instilling success… what about inculcating best efforts that lead to excellence?

Kids World Integrated School was established in November 1994 as Kids World Day Care Cooperative by a group of parents, with innovative ideas on how to bridge the transition of the child from home to the big school.
In the year 2000 , recognizing that every child who comes to our institution brings different learning styles, Kids World Day Care Center became an equal opportunity center . Children with special needs were accepted and provided special education services.

The conventional textbook approach is divided into bite-sized, achievable worktexts called PACEs, each of which is equivalent to a chapter in a standard textbook. A year of academic progress usually is made up of twelve PACEs.
PACEs integrate character-building lessons into the academic content and are carefully designed to develop critical thinking skills and create mastery learning. Students begin their reaading PACE by the objectives, a Bible verse, and a corresponding character trait. From the very beginning students know what is expected and assume the responsibility for their own learning!
