When you enroll in our courses here at The Bailiwick Academy, you can rest assured that you’ll learn only the best cooking and baking recipes from expert Filipino instructors. But did you know that as a member of our community, you can not only LEARN, you can also EARN? Read on to find out how you can earn affiliate commissions with TBA!

How to Earn Commissions As An Affiliate Marketer With TBA

The Bailiwick Academy has an affiliate program for people who sign up with us. It’s currently exclusive for students who have availed of at least one of our paid courses. Interested to learn and earn commissions at the same time?

Here’s a step-by-step process.

Step 1: Sign Up to The Bailiwick Academy

Sign up at The Bailiwick Academy.  Don’t worry, it’s free! Go to https://thebailiwick.academy/ and scroll all the way to the bottom until you see this:

earn affiliate commissions the bailiwick academy

Press the SIGN UP FOR FREE button. You’ll be taken to this screen:

earn affiliate commissions the bailiwick academy

It’s fairly straightforward. Fill up all the details, and you will be sent an Email Confirmation request to your email address. Be sure to check your junk mail if it does not show up in your inbox.

The email you receive will look like this:

All you need to do is verify your email address. After that, just complete your account set-up, and you’re ready to start joining classes! Make sure not to forget your password so you’ll have no problems logging in each time.

And before I forget, make sure to input your birthday in the information. After all, as I mentioned in our fourth anniversary blog post, you can get a 30% discount voucher every month of your birthday!

Step 2: Find and Join a Class

Browse through the list of available classes. While TBA has plenty of valuable classes that are free, remember that if you want to earn affiliate commissions, you have to enroll in a paid one. So now, go to https://thebailiwick.academy/courses/ and browse through TBA’s offerings until you see one you like.

We have more than a hundred for you to choose from, so it might take a while. But when you see one you like, say, Gourmet Cookies, click on the ENROLL NOW button below. It’s the same procedure for all the other courses you want to enroll in.

earn affiliate commissions the bailiwick academy

Follow the procedure for payment. Don’t forget to use your Php500 sign-up voucher before completing your purchase to save 500 pesos!

You’ll now be able to access this class anytime in your Student Dashboard under “MY CLASSES.”

Step 3: Earning Affiliate Commissions

Now that you have a paid class, you’ll get an affiliate link. Watch the video below to see how to access your affiliate link.

What do you do with the link? It’s how to make an affiliate commission! Get people to sign up to any paid course at TBA, and you’ll get a part of what they paid!

How much commission does an affiliate make?

Can you actually make money from affiliate marketing? That’s a yes, without a doubt! Hey, take it from me: we do actual monetary payouts!

Here’s how we compute the affiliate commission rates. For each paid class sold through your affiliate link, you will EARN 10% BASE PRICE. This is computed by (PUBLISHED PRICE / 1.12)  = BASE PRICE.

So, for example, you enrolled in the Timeless Breads class. It’s priced at Php 3,499.00. So this will be the computation:

3,499/1.12 – 3,124.10 (Base price) x 10% = Php 312.41 (your earnings)

There’s also no limit to how many people can sign up using your link. That means that the more people you know who sign up using your link, the more you’ll earn!

How often are commissions paid?

You’ll receive your commission based on our cutoff periods. So to summarize things:

  • You’ll receive the money you earn from the first day to the 15th of any month at the end of that month. So, for example, you made money on April 5 and April 10. You’ll get your commission on April 30.
  • You’ll receive the money you earn from the 16th to the end of the month on the 15th of the month. For example, you got an affiliate sign-up on April 20. You’ll receive the payout for that on May 15.

The reason we do this is because we receive payments from third-party payment portals. We don’t get the money paid to us immediately all the time, so we just need to make sure we have the payment first before we pay it out to you as well.

Now as for your credits, you don’t necessarily have to withdraw them from your account. You can also use them to pay for future TBA courses! Watch this video for a more in-depth look at payouts and what else you can do with your commissions (the first part of the video answers it at once):

How many affiliate marketers are there?

All students of The Bailiwick Academy, as long as they’re enrolled in one paid course, can be an affiliate marketer. It will just depend on you personally if you want to do this type of online earning or if you just want to cook and bake. Personally, I would take advantage of this opportunity so I can fund more of my courses at TBA!

Why Become An Affiliate

You might be reading this right now and wondering, “Are affiliate programs worth it?”

You’d call me biased, but I’d say yes! Aside from monetary reasons (Are commissions earned income? That’s an affirmative!), there are two reasons why you should be an affiliate and get a commission.

We Reward Top Affiliates!

Here’s the list of our top affiliates for 2022:

And we didn’t just commend them and say congratulations on our Facebook page. We gave them actual rewards from our generous sponsors that will help them in cooking and baking further!

Check out these posts by Bailiwicker Jennifer:

And Bailiwicker Janice!

In short, if you believe in TBA courses and in TBA period, we do more than just appreciate–we give back to you!

You Help People Like You–And Us, Too!

See, the more you spread the word about The Bailiwick Academy, the more you’ll get the chance to reach people like you who are also looking for ways to turn their passion for cooking and baking into profit. After all, that’s one reason you joined us, right?

You might just be the bridge that leads them to us–and to help them achieve their baking and cooking dreams!

And, of course, the more people enroll in our courses, the more we get the support that we need to further improve our products and roll out more classes for you. It’s a win-win!

Ready to Earn Affiliate Commissions?

And that’s it! You now know how to earn affiliate commissions here at TBA. So what are you waiting for? Either sign up at The Bailiwick Academy for your first paid class to get your affiliate link, or head on over to your dashboard and start getting people to sign up with your unique link.

I personally can’t wait to send you your affiliate commissions–I hope that’s soon!

Hello there! Were you able to catch our fourth anniversary celebration last Monday?

As I sit here and type this, I have to admit that I still can’t believe that The Bailiwick Academy is in its fourth year. It means this business my husband and I founded on an idea of spending more time with my family while being able to learn how to bake is still going strong!

It just makes me go, “WOW!”

And before anything else, I’d like to thank all of those who are continually supporting TBA, especially our dear Bailiwickers. Without you, we wouldn’t have reached our fourth anniversary.

And now, since I’m feeling a bit sentimental, I want to take a look at some of the things that happened in 2021. Join me in this little trip down memory lane, would you?

Before our fourth anniversary – 2021!

Yes, 2021 was our third anniversary (obviously, haha!) but despite that happy occasion, COVID-19 was still looming over all of us. We thought that come 2021, things would be a bit better since cases were down and the government relaxed protocols. Sadly, numbers started to go up again, and we faced another lockdown when March came around.

After that lockdown, things were (again) starting to go back to normal.

Then the Delta variant of COVID-19 entered the country and things got worse, since it meant more lockdowns and more restriction of movements, even with the vaccination rollout.

On our end, it was so frustrating having restricted movements. How were we supposed to film classes that you Bailiwickers wanted and needed? And as much as we wanted to, we couldn’t hold live events or meet and greets.

And of course, with the lockdowns came a lot of mental health issues, overwork, and too much thinking. We weren’t spared from lack of income because of the pandemic, and with it came self-doubt, delays, and bouts of us thinking if we were still doing the right thing. We also faced many external challenges, like the rise of new competition, doubters, and so much more.

But we knew that it was exactly because of the pandemic that people still needed what we offered.

We founded The Bailiwick Academy with the idea of helping people find another source of income in the most convenient and affordable way possible – and it was something that we would continue to do. That’s why despite our doubts and fears, we pushed through.

And that’s why in 2021, we made the following improvements to TBA – all for a better experience for you!

We gave you additional guidance and support.

Knowledge Base

the bailiwick academy fourth anniversary

Because we want to help you find answers to your questions per class quickly and more efficiently, we added the Knowledge Base to your Dashboard. The Knowledge Base is the place to find answers to your frequently asked questions.

But that’s not all! It’s also a place to find tips and reminders for classes you are enrolled in! Access it anytime under the HELP and SUPPORT section.

And because we’re continuously adding classes and questions and tips, this will always be updated.

Thanks to the Bailiwickers who contributed to it!

Categories

If you looked at all our classes before on the website, you might have been overwhelmed by the number. It might have taken you a while to find the class you were looking for!

That’s why on our website, we added categories:

the bailiwick academy fourth anniversary

Choose from Arts and Crafts, Baking, Beverage, Business Support, Cake Decorating, Cooking, and Music!

And if you think there are even better ways to categorize the classes, do let us know! We’d love to hear from you.

We wanted you to be heard.

Speaking of hearing from you, my dear Bailiwickers, we want you to know that your opinions matter very much. And that’s why we love reading your reviews about our classes, whether on our Facebook page:

Or on our website itself!

And because we really appreciate your support for our classes by sending us your brilliant ideas to make TBA better, we’ve been giving away vouchers for every review you make of our classes. And as announced last August, these review vouchers that have been issued from March 2021 are now valid for one year!

So if you haven’t made your reviews yet, do it now!

Even before our fourth anniversary, we wanted to keep celebrating your achievements.

Do you know what makes the TBA team (and especially me of course) really proud? It’s when you, our dear students, achieve a lot thanks to our classes! You’re so industrious, getting all your hands on different classes, all because you want to make your lives better and achieve more.

And not only do we want to brag about you to the rest of the world via our social media posts, we’d also like you to have certificates to represent your accomplishments! The certificates also have signatures from our instructors, so you can rest assured that they’re legitimate, and the instructors themselves are certifying you finished their classes.

You can see them in the Certificates of your dashboard.

Bear them proudly, Bailiwickers!

We added more payment options.

Gcash

We realized that despite the many payment options on our website, Gcash is still one of the most convenient for plenty of Bailiwickers. That’s why we integrated the Gcash payment option in our website!

If you haven’t watched the video yet regarding this, click here. Make sure you’ve joined the The Bailiwick Academy Student Lounge!

Installment options

And because we know plenty of you out there want to enroll in our classes, but can’t afford to pay in one go, we added installment payment options for your convenience. It’s not only for our classes; you can apply installment for your purchases in the TBA shop too!

Read about our various installment options here!

Before our fourth anniversary, we wanted to make TBA bigger!

We’re sure you’d agree that more people have to know about TBA. And because we also want to have more reach to help even more people, we did a media launch!

It was hosted by DJ Suzy of Magic 89.9, and we invited members of the media as well as mommy influencers to an afternoon of baking.

the bailiwick academy dj suzy

They learned to make my recipe of choco peanut butter bars. It was an afternoon full of fun and fellowship with fellow moms.

fourth anniversary the bailiwick academy

We also teamed up with Hanabishi and Mega Global for two events for LazMall!

We hit plenty of views, all thanks to your support! Without you, we wouldn’t have reached the views we did on those two days.

We celebrated your successes with you.

Whenever our dear students apply their learnings from our classes and take that next step. For example, Bailiwicker Rex had this to share:

And Bailiwicker Ludy shares her positive results after taking classes, too:

Bailiwicker Jackie has even opened her own store in Canada:

It just makes our hearts swell with so much pride. And it warms our hearts knowing that we’ve really helped change lives.

We treated you like family (and we still will!)

Speaking of heartwarming, we love how you Bailiwickers celebrate the wins of your fellow cooks and bakers.

Like when Bailiwicker Kathleen won the Hanabishi Airfryer Oven:

fourth anniversary

And you all poured out nothing but congratulations for her.

fourth anniversary

And whenever students have questions, you all do your best to answer their questions. Like when Bailiwicker Malou had a question about the ingredients of Chef Jimbo’s egg pie class:

And many of you answered her right away.

And we really appreciate it when you share your own individual techniques with other students, like Bailiwicker Marilou:

fourth anniversary the bailiwick academy

Thank you Bailiwickers for also taking up our mission of helping your fellow home cooks, mommies, daddies, and bakers.

We also love, love, LOVE how you are just so thankful and grateful to us!

fourth anniversary
fourth anniversary

All your words just encourage us more to keep doing what we’re doing – and to be even better.

What comes after our fourth anniversary?

So with all the amazing things that happened despite the pandemic last 2021, do you think we can top them this 2022?

You can bet that we’re going to do nothing but try!

New look for our website

Our goal is to have an even bigger and better TBA for our dear students. For example, we have already updated the look of our website:

fourth anniversary the bailiwick academy

Affiliate program – on its fourth anniversary and still going strong

And, we’re also going to continue our affiliate/referral program for you to achieve even more earnings and abundance. It’s our reward for students who are spreading the word about TBA. Learn while you earn!

Check out your student dashboard for help on how to activate it.

New things coming up

Last 2021, we already added four new instructors to our roster: Angel Llamanzares Martinez, Chef Miko Llamanzares Aspiras, Chiqui Ortiz Dingcong, and Chef John Cu-Unjieng. You can bet that this year, we’ll be looking to add even more top-quality classes taught only by the best chefs and minds! You’ll have even more resources to level up!

More events

We hope COVID-19 will become endemic soon so that we can see all of you face-to-face. Meeting you all online is great, but we’re sure you’ll agree that meeting each other in the real world is so much better! Just keep an eye out for our future posts!

More gifts for you – even before our fourth anniversary!

If you noticed during our fourth anniversary event, we gave away anniversary vouchers! Did you see it in your dashboard?

fourth anniversary

But not only that, we asked you to update your birthdays in your profile… so you can get your TBA birthday vouchers!

fourth anniversary

Get a class at 30% off – all on us! It’s valid for the whole month of your birthday ONLY, so make sure to use it before the month ends!

Final Thoughts

fourth anniversary the bailiwick academy

I’m excited for what 2022 will bring to The Bailiwick Academy and to your Bailiwickers. I hope you are too! Again, thank you all. Without you, we wouldn’t have reached where we are today.

Hopefully, by our fifth anniversary, we can all celebrate in person! In the meantime, just keep on visiting our Facebook page, the Lounge, and the website for new developments – especially your favorite: sales!

  1. From the home screen, go to Settings then look for Safari.
  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data, then confirm.

What’s a cache, anyway?

clearing cache the bailiwick academy

To put it simply, the cache on any browser is a “secret place” that contains stuff from websites you visit. According to BigCommerce.com, the browser takes pieces of the page and stores them on your computer’s hard drive. Examples of these are pictures, HTML codes, and so on. The process, called “caching,” is necessary to load images, text, videos, and websites faster. It can get bloated though, which we will talk about later.

Well, what are cookies?

clearing cache and cookies the bailiwick academy
Sorry, not these cookies.

Sorry, we’re not referring to cookies like the cookies of Chef Joey Prats. All About Cookies explains cookies as small text files or given ID tags that are stored on your computer. Cookies generate when you visit a site that uses cookies to track your activity on that website. The site puts it on your device so the website remembers you when you visit again and help you resume what you’re doing. They will also remember your login details on sites.

Why do we need to clear cache and cookies?

If cache and cookies work together to make your website browsing a faster and easier experience, why clear them? Well, sometimes, the information on websites changes, so the saved information may no longer apply to the website. Therefore, your browser might be loading older versions which will slow the website down. The recommendation is to clear browser caches and cookies every few weeks so that your browser will load websites faster.

Of course, the disadvantage is that all your saved items like usernames and passwords will be deleted. Make sure you have those stored or written somewhere!

Now that you know about clearing cache and cookies, you’ll have an easier time watching The Bailiwick Academy videos! If you run into any problems, just refer to this blog post. And if all else fails, try using a different browser or device.

Enjoy your classes!

How to be successful in life? This is probably the most asked question by almost everybody.  To some, success means wealth, power and fame. Others may gauge their success when they  reach and fulfill their dreams. We all have different views on what success is and all these are certainly valid.  Well, simply because each of us is unique.

Becoming successful, regardless of age, gender and economic stature, will most definitely not come easy. As they say, it is a product of discipline, hard work, patience and passion.  It will also remain just a word if no action is taken.  Yup, reading all the self-help “how to be successful” books in the world won’t hand you the key to success unless you actually do something about it!

Where do I start? You may ask.

First, find out what you love and do it! To quote the renowned Chinese philosopher, Confucius:

“Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”

Well, it’s true! If you can imagine yourself doing a certain job or business for a very, very long time then it might just be your true calling.

The Bailiwick Academy and You

The Bailiwick Academy can help with your quest for success.  Whether you want to learn something new for a hobby or to do it for business!

Let me summarize how you can jumpstart a successful career or business with the help of The Bailiwick Academy.

For hobbyists, The Bailiwick Academy has free courses that you can check out. Then, if you liked what you watched, you can take your pick from the wide array of courses from The Bailiwick Academy.

This means you  can learn all these awesome courses at your convenience. You can acquire new skills practically anytime and anywhere you want!

Why The Bailiwick Academy?

But what is the difference between The Bailiwick Academy and other  online platforms?  As we may all know, online learning is really the norm nowadays.  It is part of our new normal after all.  Unless this pandemic is finally over, online learning is here to stay.

So, really, what sets The Bailiwick Academy apart from the others?

First, The Bailiwick Academy has a solid support system for its students. Learning doesn’t end after completing a class. Instructors are very approachable and would gladly extend help, guidance and assistance to students.

Second, the owner and founder herself, Ms. Grace Parazo, is very hands-on, super patient and accommodating to the students. She makes sure that every question or query is answered in the earliest time possible.  She’s not only generous with her time but she’s always there to give advice, encouragement and praise to the students. How awesome is that?

Lastly (but definitely not the least), The Bailiwick Academy fosters an atmosphere of camaraderie, inclusion and cooperation.  It is very encouraging to witness fellow students helping each other become the  best version of themselves. Who wouldn’t want to be in this kind of community?

Take Action

Cliche as this may sound but … what are you waiting for? Together with The Bailiwick Academy, you can now confidently take your first step to success! Take Action! Turn your passion into a successful business! Change your life! Be the person who MAKES things happen!

The Bailiwick Academy is turning another year old! It’s going to be our third anniversary on January 17! It is amazing how a vision by a dreamer is now a thriving community of thousands!  And guess what? We will be celebrating The Bailiwick Academy’s third anniversary with a very loud bang!

However, before the success, did you know that this vision of Ms. Marie Grace Parazo stemmed out from the need to have more quality time with her daughter?  With an untimely circumstance involving family, she resigned from her high-paying BPO job and dedicated her time to family most especially her daughter.

Ms. Grace And Her Dream

Ms. Grace, as she is fondly called by the community,  juggled life with helping her husband by selling baked goods, exclusively breastfeeding their daughter and attended workshops to better her craft.  It was the transit from home to workshops and back that exhausted her.  Manila is notoriously known for its traffic. I am sure most of you can relate to the exhaustion it brings when you’re stuck in traffic for 2-4 hours!

So, she tried learning from free recipes and tutorials on YouTube and Google. It didn’t quite suit her as it was still trial and error. A lot of ingredients were wasted and there were so many recipes of one dish on the internet that it was too overwhelming.  She didn’t know what or who to follow anymore.

She tried enrolling in paid workshops based abroad.  Ms. Grace learned some new techniques but it wasn’t the right fit.  The methods and ingredients were not adaptable to a tropical country like ours.

Ms. Grace also noticed that some students attending the workshops would come from the provinces or from abroad.  She thought, what if there is a more convenient way to learn?

You can’t get back the time you wasted in traffic, time away from the family or your loved ones and not to mention the preparation and hassle that you have to go through in arranging your schedule just to attend a class.

The idea is for everyone to get as much time doing what they want or what they need anywhere!

Imagine going through a workshop at home then your child calls out for you. You just pause the class and come back anytime you are ready!

No more going through traffic and wasting 2 hrs or more! You will still learn while being where you are needed to be! “

Marie Grace Parazo

With this thought, she founded The Bailiwick Academy from the ground up with practically just her and her husband Mr. Nico Parazo.  And the rest, they say, is history!

Have you ever experienced doing dibs on the last fry on the plate? Registering your own trademark is much like having dibs on your own brand.

It is a childish comparison but what if you had an idea you just thought of and another person things of the same thing, only at a much later time?  Let us say you have an invention which can reduce plastic waste. You have thought about the technique and process. Someone discovered the same technique and process by chance and sells it to a company and earns even if you though of it first?

At that time you made the invention or just thought of the idea and design, wouldn’t it be great that you called dibs on that?  We can actually do that, well sort of. We apply a patent for our invention, discovery, idea or other things that we have made for ourselves that is unique.

In a businesses, other than the product , the name, logo or trademark are other items an  individual or corporation can take ownership. Imagine different businesses with the same exact logo. It would be difficult for at least one of them to be recognized.

The thing is, no matter how witty or catchy your logo or trademark is, someone may have thought of it! That is why it is best to have it registered or file a patent for it. You might be using it without knowing another has registered it for themselves. This may lead to legal issues, so better be safe than sorry.

A patent is an exclusive right for you to use your invention, idea or solution to a problem. Trademarks are registered, that is why you can see the items below after a logo or a trademark.

When to use ®, © and ™ ?

© Copyright You have written the content and are claiming a copyright to the work. Anything published or not.® RegisteredA trademark that has been registered with the proper trademark office for your state or federal agency.

™ Trade MarkYou are claiming a trademark on the name or phrase based on first use.

Here’s how you can file your trademark in the Philippines.

Step 1: Trademark Application

Option 1: File your trademark online which is available in their website: IPOPHL Trademark Electronic Filing System

Option 2: Go to their office in Taguig and file personally.

Office Address: 28 Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Hill Town Center Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City 1634, Philippines

Option 3: Outsource your trademark application to a business services company.

Step 2: Search & Examination

IPOPHL will search their database and look if there’s any identical or similar trademark on file.  If the application is approved,  your mark will be published in the IP Philippines Gazette. This will give the public a chance to oppose in the registration.

Step 3: Issuance & Registrability Report

IPOPHL will search their database and look if there’s any identical or similar trademark on file.  If the application is approved,  your mark will be published in the IP Philippines Gazette. This will give the public a chance to oppose in the registration.

Step 4: 2nd Publication for Opposition & Issuance of Certificate

Once the application is approved, you will receive a hard copy of the certificate which has a validity of ten (10) years, and is renewable after.

Filing Requirements:

  1. A duly filled-up Trademark Application Form (2 copies).
  2. Drawing / representation of the Mark.
  3. Paying the Fees
  4. Declaration of Actual Use (DAU)

Here’s the series of events for my own application for The Bailiwick Academy

April 2017 – filed the trademark in the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL)

July 18, 2017 – Received Acknowledgement receipt of my application saying that it’s complete. Paid Php 1494.80

August 18, 2017 – Received Registrability Report. They said that it will take around 6mos. after this. I totally neglected to make a follow up as I was doing a lot of things in setting up our platform.

November 27, 2018 – I finally decided to made a follow up and went to their main office in Taguig. Received the letter of Notice of Allowance. Paid the publication fee (Php910 for small entity), issuance fee and 2nd publication fee (for the Certificate of Registration) Php1484.70. Total of Php 2394.70. Take note that if you can’t wait for the snail mail to receive this notice and opted to go to their office instead, you have to pay for the print out and research fee amounting to Php30.00.

“Paying the issuance fee and 2nd publication fee together with the publication fee will expidite the release of the Certificate of Registration if no opposition to the registration of the mark is filed within thirty (30) days from publication of the mark in the e-gazette. Please note that if an opposition is filed, the issuance fee will not be refunded.”

January 2019 – Calling their office for status update every other week.

February 2019 – Calling their office for status update EVERY WEEK.

March 11, 2019 – Received the Certificate of Registration. You can check it out here: Finally Trademarked: The Bailiwick Academy®

Conclusion:

It’s easy to file your own trademark but it takes a lot of time. As with any Philippine government office, you need to do constant follow up to your application or else, it will just go under the pile like what happened to me.
