A keto cookie is an ingenious creation, to say the least! This keto food combines the joy of cookies and the principles of the ketogenic diet. Not only do they taste like normal cookies, but they also have low net carbs and are high in healthy fats.
That makes these the perfect indulgence while achieving or staying in a state of ketosis, where your body uses fats instead of carbs for energy.
What makes a cookie keto? Well, you’d have to use low-carb and high-fat ingredients. Here are some examples of what you’ll frequently use for the dough (not batter!) you’ll be laying out on your baking sheet:
Other ingredients will depend on the flavor you’re going for. If, for instance, you’re making keto pumpkin cookies, then you’ll definitely have to use pumpkin puree and cream cheese.
We’re not doctors, so we can’t really say that something is healthy per se, but keto cookies do come with some nutritional perks, such as:
Note that keto cookies aren’t the only source; you can more or less expect the same thing from other keto snacks or keto-friendly food such as keto bread.
Do you know what’s great about keto cookie recipes? Surprisingly, you’re not that limited in flavors. For example, you can make the following flavors:

]]>Read on as we share some low-carb (or even zero-carb) keto-friendly substitutes for some of your usual and favorite eats.
For us Filipinos, rice is life. Hey, we even have various desserts that are basically rice, right? That’s how rice-obsessed we are.
Sadly, rice is not keto-friendly–one cup alone would kick you out of ketosis. But you don’t have to say goodbye to rice, especially if it’s your staple for your meals. Check out some of these keto rice substitutes.
It might take some time to get used to these, but we promise: you’ll get to the point of enjoying them.
If rice is life for Filipinos, bread comes as a close second. After all, we have plenty of favorites in Pinoy bakeries and various spreads to enhance our enjoyment. Sadly, since the usual white bread has a high carbohydrate content, it’s another food you have to avoid.
Good thing there’s keto bread–as in keto substitutes for flour bread, such as:
And if you’re looking for exact recipes on how to make keto bread, look no further than our class here at The Bailiwick Academy: Keto Bread The Gluten Free Series! You’ll get to make four kinds of keto bread: Keto Dinner Rolls, Keto Loaf Bread, Keto Burger and Hotdog Buns, and Keto Pan de Sal.
You definitely won’t have to say goodbye to bread!
Just because you have to do keto doesn’t mean dessert is off-limits for you. There are plenty of low-carb alternatives for desserts, such as:
You can also indulge in donuts, muffins, brownies (available in our Keto Easy-Bake Bestsellers), and even various Filipino favorites like bibingka and puto bumbong.
Do take note that even though these keto desserts are lower in net carbs than their traditional counterparts, these keto alternatives should still be eaten in moderation since they are generally high in calories and fat. Practice enjoying them as occasional treats.
If you like drinking Coke, Pepsi, and any other carbonated drinks, you should be aware by now of their high sugar content. But you don’t have to look far for keto alternatives to soda. You don’t have to get rid of soda entirely, either.
Coke Zero, Coke Light, Sprite Zero, and Pepsi Max are all keto-friendly. They’re zero calories too! The same goes for plenty of other drinks in the market, like Rite N’ Lite.
Of course, make sure to check with your personal doctor how much of these you can safely consume in a day.
Like eating fries, potato chips, and other salty snacks? We can’t blame you–they’re delicious and can be quite comforting, especially if you’ve had a very long day. The carb count for these, though, is a different story.
You don’t have to stop snacking though–just exchange your usual high-carb foods with low-carb ones. For example, instead of eating chips, eat chicharon or pork rinds instead. They’re also crunchy and salty, but most importantly, they carry a zero carb count.
You can also eat nuts and seeds instead. You’ll have to read the label and/or do research, but plenty of them have low net carbs. Just be sure to limit your intake to follow your daily carb limit.
One more you can do is use zucchini as a potato substitute. Zucchini has lower carbs and calories compared to potatoes, so you can make zucchini chips or zucchini fries instead. When sliced thinly and baked or fried, zucchini can have a crunchy texture that is similar to potato chips or fries.
Don’t know it until you’ve tried it!
Pinoys use sugar in everything, especially for our morning coffee. But as we already know, sugar is not allowed in keto diets. Use the following substitutes instead:
Will artificial sweeteners stop ketosis? Some people seem to think so, but there’s no evidence suggesting that keto sugar substitutes will affect ketosis. So until there’s actual evidence, keep on using it.
Pasta noodles are again, high in carbohydrates. After all, traditional pasta noodles are made from wheat flour which has 76g of carbs for every 100g. However, you can choose from any keto alternative to pasta that can be used to recreate keto-friendly pasta meals, such as:
As you can see, just because you’re on a keto diet, it doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite foods altogether. There are plenty of delicious and satisfying keto-friendly alternatives out there that can help you stay on track while still enjoying the flavors you love. We hope this list gives you a headstart on looking for those keto substitutes.
In the meantime, we wish you all the best as you go on your keto diet. Here’s to a better and healthier you!

]]>Well, don’t worry – this list is for you! We have five suggestions for you that will bring you a lot of happiness and less time spent in the kitchen and more for relaxing and eating.
Let’s get to it, shall we?
So if you’re a beginner baker, you might be wary of the suggestion of something “easy”. What exactly constitutes answers the question, “What is easy to bake at home?”
Well, the five baking recipes and food items we’re going to suggest have the following characteristics:
The recipe has simple ingredients. You won’t need anything that cannot be found in most supermarkets. You won’t need a lot either, like these examples of food with five ingredients or less.
Prep time is very minimal. You won’t spend hours in the kitchen preparing anything – and it won’t take you long to complete either.
There are only a few steps needed to complete the recipe. You won’t be required to know any fancy baking knowledge or have plenty of experience. You’ll also have only a few steps to do to produce delicious food.
The recipe can have variations. Baking can be an exact science, but with these easy-baked foods, you don’t need to be so strict. You can improvise and not completely follow the recipe, but still get the same general result. And speaking of results…
Following the recipe should give you a predictable outcome. No matter what happens, you’ll be able to make the exact same thing over and over, as long as you generally follow what the recipe says. If it says you’re going to get eight butter cookies, you’ll always get eight butter cookies. Cool, right?
Oh, and if you ARE a beginner baker, make sure to check out our Basic Rules of Baking for Beginners. These might help you while you’re in the middle of your home baking project.
Without further ado, here are some ideas for you to try!
Banana bread is probably one of the most well-known easy-baking recipes. In fact, ask anyone “What is the easiest bread to make at home?” and they’ll probably answer banana bread.
Why? Because you can bake this golden brown bread anytime and anywhere with ingredients that are both simple and convenient. The same goes for baking tools – you can use any pan, you can mix the batter with even a spoon, and so on.

Ahhh, cheese muffins. These are very versatile baked treats – you can mix them in with something sweet to make them desserts, or use herbs and spices for a savory snack.

You can also use this recipe in the future for different flavors, such as banana muffins, blueberry muffins, and even chocolate chip muffins. Just remove the cheese and you’re good to go! The possibilities are endless!
If you love apple pies but have no idea how to make a pie crust, or you don’t like the taste of storebought pie crust, why not make an apple crisp instead? It’s a dessert made with baked apples and topped with a sweet and crunchy mixture of flour, sugar, butter, and oats.

]]>You do this so that you can switch your body into ketosis, a state where you will start burning fat for fuel. In short, the purpose of the keto diet is to primarily help you lose weight. However, some findings show that it also improves your overall health.
And for you to stay in that state, you’re going to have to say goodbye to some of your favorite foods, including fruits, vegetables, and plenty of comfort or junk foods.
While we won’t be able to answer how much food to eat on a keto diet, we’ll definitely be able to list the food to avoid while on said diet.
Ready? Dreading it?
Well, here’s a bit of a spoiler: it’s not going to be so bad, actually. We promise.
Find out why – keep on reading!
As we always like to mention in our past articles regarding keto, we’re not nutritionists. Therefore, as much as we like to talk about the benefits of the keto diet for health, we are in no way, shape, or form qualified to give medical advice.
So if you want to try the keto diet, talk to your doctor or nutritionist and find out if the keto diet is for you. Got it?
On to the next section!
You’re probably not going to be surprised, but there’s plenty in this list of what not to eat or drink on a low carb diet. Yup, it’s not going to be the typical “5 Foods Not to Eat on a Keto Diet” list – after all, we want to help you succeed!
Of course, do take note that this is far from a comprehensive list. It’s best to again ask your doctor about this.
Without further ado, check it out:
Sorry to break it to you but your consumption of your favorite Pinoy bakery products, pasta noodles, and anything else made with the same ingredients – say, the base of pizzas – will either be super limited or will have to go down to zero. The reason for this is these kinds of food all contain very high amounts of carbohydrates.
As mentioned above, keto diets are low in carbohydrates. While technically you CAN eat some of these without getting kicked out of ketosis (you can eat less than 50 grams of carbs), why risk it?
It’s best to not be tempted and avoid them instead. Aside from what we already mentioned above, avoid the following as well:
Ever heard of, “An apple a day keeps a doctor away?” Well, that doesn’t apply here, especially if you consume an apple (whether in solid or liquid form) on a ketogenic diet. You might have to go to the doctor after and explain why you got kicked out of keto.
What fruits not to eat on a keto diet, you ask? Well, aside from apple, avoid:
The reason for this is that most fruits are high in glucose. Glucose is a sugar – and again, you also have to avoid sugar to achieve ketosis.
Oh and before we forget to mention it, most fruits are also high in carbs – another no-no in the keto diet.
Oh yes… Do take note that we did say SOME fruits… and that means that some are actually made for keto diets, such as avocado, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and even strawberries. These are high in protein and healthy fats.
Of course, regarding these fruits in juice form… ask your nutritionist!
A soda is basically a fizzy drink that’s full of sugar. And we all know that sugar and keto diets DO NOT MIX. And besides, sodas have zero nutrition – it would do you good to avoid these drinks.
So you might be thinking that if you can’t have sugar, can you just have other sweeteners like honey, syrup, coconut sugar, and so on. Well, sorry, but that’s a big no. All of these are just… well, sugar!
If you can’t curb your sweet tooth, inquire with your doctor about artificial sweeteners that work for ketogenic diets.
Alcoholic drinks are like sodas: they provide little to no nutritional value, and have high carb and sugar counts. Yup, we’re talking about beer, liqueurs, and mixed drinks.
Of course, if you find tossing back an alcoholic drink a technique to relax, then look for drinks with lower carbs, such as red wine, white wine, or hard liquor.
What condiments belong to a list of what not to eat on keto diet? Well, again, sadly, a lot! Ketchup, barbecue sauce, and sweet chili sauce are a few examples of condiments that are full of sugar… and again, do not have much nutritional value.
Now, you might be thinking that you won’t be eating a lot of these, so you might be safe. But it’s easy to eat a lot of them, especially since they’re coming from small portions.
But if you can’t eat without including condiments, you can try Tabasco, spices, or mayonnaise that has plenty of fat to keep things keto-friendly.
Yup, you may not necessarily associate veggies as “sweet” or even as full of sugar, but surprise! A lot of vegetables are not keto friendly.
What are these vegetables not to be eaten on a keto diet?
Now don’t get us wrong, these are healthy, but these are veggies that grow under the ground (otherwise known as root vegetables)… and that means these are high in starch, and again, are high in carb content.
But not to worry: there are plenty of vegetables that will fit the keto diet, such as broccoli, cabbage, and eggplant.
Again, we’ll start with a disclaimer: CONSULT YOUR NUTRITIONIST OR DOCTOR.
Remember how we said earlier that it’s not going to be so bad, especially when it comes to the food you love to eat? (We’re looking at you, bread and other carb-rich food!)
While we cannot say what your healthcare professional will allow you to eat, we can definitely say that there are keto versions of the foods that aren’t allowed.
That means there are keto alternatives to the food you like to eat!
If you want to eat bread, then there’s such a thing as keto bread.
If you want cake or ice cream… yes, you got that right. There’s keto cake and keto ice cream. In fact, there are plenty of keto dessert foods you can sink your teeth into!
But what about non-dessert foods, you ask?
Well, the latest class of The Bailiwick Academy might just make you happy.

]]>That might be the question in your mind, especially since you (like all of us) are feeling the heat! It’s already May. Is it even summer at this point?
We definitely understand feeling the urge to indulge in something both cool (cold?) and sweet to combat the heat. (Hey, it rhymes!) However, if you are on a keto diet, you might kick yourself out of it with even just a lick!
So, does ice cream count as one of the many keto dessert foods out there? Or is it something that has to be avoided at all costs in a ketogenic diet?
We’ll take a look at that (and more!) in this article. Let’s get to it!
We don’t want to be one of those articles that don’t answer the question immediately, so here it is.
According to Healthline, since ice cream generally has a high carb count, most of which come from sugar, it typically doesn’t fit into a keto diet.
Sorry to bring your hopes up.
Well, you already know it has sugar. Aside from that, most ice cream brands have milk, cream, and usually, a flavor.
Speaking of flavors, that’s the great thing about ice cream – it’s super flexible! You have standard flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and fruits like mango or banana. Then there are also non-standard ones like chocolate peanut, caramel with sea salt, and mint chip ice cream.
One more great thing about ice cream is that it’s not exclusive to any professional ice cream maker. You can make it at home, and customize it to your tastes. For example, you can use coconut milk and make dairy-free ice cream.
(Speaking of making ice cream, check out our class with Chef Joey Prats: Artisan and No Churn Ice Creams! You’ll be taking homemade ice cream to the next level, guaranteed!)
Well, if you make ice cream with the usual ingredients, then no, your end result will probably not be keto-friendly.
Remember, to be in ketosis (and to stay there), you need to eat fewer than 50 grams of carbs per day. Carb counts of more than 50 grams will make you leave your ketogenic state.
What does this have to do with ice cream? Well, the usual ice cream brands have the following nutritional values for ½ cup:
Now, if you compute the sum of carbs and sugar, ½ cup will not kick you out of ketosis. But face it, how many of us can stop at just a half-cup? Plus, how many other carbohydrates will we be eating in the day?
Let’s just say that indulging in the usual ice cream is definitely a gateway to leaving ketosis. Unless, of course, you have super self-control.
According to BBC, there are plenty of ice cream origin stories such as:
Whatever the origins of ice cream, we’re just glad that it exists! Wouldn’t you agree?
Is ice cream allowed on the keto diet?
Going back to what we said earlier, you can, as long as you have self-control. And as long as you don’t go past 50 grams of carbs while indulging in ice cream.
Do take note that most ice creams have a lot of grams of net carbs. Yes, even in a half-cup serving. If you are resolute that this will be your only carb for the day, then great!
If not, better choose your carbs wisely. Ice cream might not satisfy your carb craving, after all.
Now you’re asking the right questions! And yes, there is such a thing! You can also call it keto ice cream.
Hey, if we can have keto cake, why not keto ice cream, right?
How is keto ice cream different from regular ice cream? Keto ice cream is still ice cream, but for one thing, it’s sugar-free!
That means instead of sugar, the ice cream maker used one of the following low-calorie, low-carb sweeteners:
Also, keto ice cream tends to have the usual qualities:
Yes, keto ice cream still has carbs. However, compared to the usual ice cream, it has lower grams of carbs. And that means eating it will not kick you out of ketosis.
As there are plenty in the market, make sure to check the nutritional values of each keto ice cream brand. That way, you can be sure you haven’t gone over your total carb of fewer than 50 for the day!
For example, we know banana is not a keto-recommended fruit. So is banana ice cream keto?
Don’t worry – if regular ice cream can come in different flavors, so can keto ice cream! For example, the brand Enlightened Ice Cream has flavors like Peppermint Brownie, Caramel Chocolate Double Dough, and Chocolate Glazed Donut. So you can be sure your keto ice cream will be anything but boring!
And you can also be sure that the flavoring used will be just fine for your ketogenic diet.
Ice cream is best eaten with an ice cream cone, right? Of course, just because the ice cream you’re eating is keto doesn’t mean your cone is! Don’t worry, there are keto cones in the market – just look for them.
Is keto ice cream really better than regular ice cream, for instance? Well, we’re not doctors, so we really can’t answer that. The best way to find out is to talk to your doctor or nutritionist.
Oh, and keep this saying in mind: enjoy everything in moderation.
You can check your local grocery for keto ice cream. They usually have the word keto stamped on them, so you won’t confuse them for regular ice cream. There are also plenty of brands you can buy online.
The answer to this is one big yes! How is keto ice cream made, you ask? Well, The Bailiwick Academy has a class that is great for answering your question.
Introducing: Keto Ice Cream by Ms. Chiqui Dingcong!

]]>You might be wondering about that very important question if one, you’ve been told to start keto by your doctor or your nutritionist, and two, you love eating sweet, sugary cakes.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the usual cake batter for any cake flavor is not keto.
But here’s good news for you: if there are keto dessert foods, if there are different kinds of keto bread and keto meals, then there’s definitely such a thing as keto cake! And thanks to a lot of keto-friendly ingredients on the market these days, you’ll get plenty of flavors and cake recipes that you can be sure you’ll enjoy on your keto diet.
Let’s take a closer look at keto cakes, shall we?
A keto cake is pretty much a cake. The difference between a keto cake with other cakes is that you don’t use traditional ingredients like flour. What is keto cake made of, you ask? Well, as mentioned above, keto-friendly ingredients such as almond flour, coconut flour, unsweetened chocolate chips, cocoa powder, coconut milk, heavy cream and so much more.
Most importantly, what makes it keto is that its net carb is low compared to the usual cakes. Carbs are practically zero in any keto meal, and keto cakes are not exempted from that fact.
The answer is no. Brown or white sugar is not used on keto cakes. Nor do you use sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. Instead, the cake is sweetened with a sugar substitute like powdered sweeteners (Equal Gold or Stevia), or monk fruit. They’re sweet, but they’re sugar-free!
Any cake can be keto-friendly, as long as its ingredients are legit keto-friendly ingredients. It doesn’t matter what flavor it is (i.e. cheesecake, avocado) or how many cake layers it has! Remember, there are ingredients that can never be keto-friendly, like bananas. So before you eat any supposed keto cake, remember to research! You can also ask your nutritionist or doctors for a complete list of ingredients that fit your new diet.
If you’ve ever tasted anything keto before, we’d be willing to bet that you weren’t happy with it. For example, one bite might have left you wondering why do keto desserts taste so bad? Or why is my keto cake grainy? Or even just why don’t they taste good? If you check out this Reddit thread, you’d find others like you who are wondering the same thing and are looking for keto desserts that actually taste good.
Well, according to Keto.Global, most keto desserts don’t taste good because of the lack of ingredients, like sugar and flour. This particular lack, plus a change of ingredients (because you’re using keto substitutes, right?) may cause desserts to have a distinct flavor, texture, and look that aren’t necessarily appetizing. And some ingredients also have a more chemical taste or a bad aftertaste.
To fix this, what you do is basically to find the right balance of substitute and ingredients. It’s that simple. You might have to do a lot of experimenting but you’ll eventually find the right balance. Or you’ll have to try out a lot of keto stores. Once you find the store or bakery with the desserts you like, just keep buying there. Problem solved!
If you’re a cake fanatic, you might be wondering, “How much keto cake can I eat?” Is there an amount where you can be considered to have eaten too much keto cake?
Well, like we mentioned in previous blog posts about keto food, we’re not doctors or nutritionists. And the keto diet definitely has some unpleasant side effects. But we do know that because of the little to no sugar content of keto cakes, it’s definitely helpful for controlling your blood sugar content while still tasting something sweet.
And as for the amount of cake you can eat, the only thing we have to say about it is that too much of a good thing can be bad. Remember, you’re going on a keto diet to help you lose weight. But if you still eat too much food, you may be preventing your own weight or fat loss.
In short, we recommend you keep eating keto cakes as a treat. And again, consult your doctor or nutritionist!
Now you might be wondering if you can just make your own cake instead of having to Google “is there a keto bakery near me.”
Well, the answer to that is yes, you can – with The Bailiwick Academy!
We’ve just recently released new classes by Ms. Chiqui Ortiz Dingcong, and they’re all about making keto cakes!

]]>Does keto bread exist? You bet it does! After all, keto desserts do, so why not bread?
Read on as we take a closer, in-depth look at this delicious treat, minus all the guilt!
Keto bread is a type of bread that is made for individuals who are following a strict, low-carb ketogenic diet. And that’s it. Got it? Good, let’s move on.
According to Everyday Health, a keto diet is basically depleting the body of any carbohydrates. Carbs are the primary source of a body’s energy. If there are no carbs, the body will burn fat for fuel. This results in a buildup of acids called ketones within the body, which will maximize weight loss.
So here’s how it’s different from white bread and other kinds. Keto bread is not made with flour but with low-carb substitutes. Popular substitutes for the usual flour in the bread recipe are almond flour, psyllium husk powder, and coconut flour. All are extremely low in carbs. For example, according to Healthline, almond flour contains only 3 grams of total carbs and 1 gram of net carbs per 2-tablespoon (14-gram) serving.
Other ingredients may include butter, egg whites, baking powder, and salt. Optional ingredients are keto sweeteners, xanthan gum to make the bread more chewy and firm, and cream of tartar.
Wait, you just said that a keto diet is for depleting a body of carbs. But then you just said that almond flour has carbs. So is it really keto-friendly?
The answer to that is a resounding yes. According to Health Digest, the keto diet doesn’t completely eliminate carbs from your daily diet. But being on that diet significantly reduces the number of carbs you eat each day. After all, for you to be considered to be on a keto diet, your carb range must be between 20 to 50 grams per day, and must not go past that. Best to find out what the carb per slice ratio is from where you bought your bread to be sure.
In short, you’ll still get carbs if you eat it, but not a lot to significantly affect your diet. Cool?
Or is keto bread good for weight loss? Well, based on the explanation of this diet above, the answer is yes – as long as the bread you’re eating is really keto, of course.
Can you eat too much, though? If you eat more than your doctor’s recommended calorie count, no matter the little number of carbs per slice of bread, you may gain weight. So eat this bread in moderation.
You can eat it like any other bread. Can keto bread be toasted and eaten with cream cheese? Absolutely! Want to eat it with a burger? Why not? You can even do a French toast with keto bread or a grilled cheese sandwich! It’s all entirely up to your imagination.
However, remember that it’s best to eat keto bread with other keto-friendly food. You are on a keto diet, after all!
If you’re on a gluten-free diet, you might be considering eating keto bread. But is gluten-free bread the same as keto bread?
Well, gluten-free and carb-free are not the same thing. According to Gluten-Free Living, the keto diet is not strictly gluten-free. And, according to Spinach Tiger, most keto-friendly foods are gluten-free, but gluten-free products are not necessarily keto-friendly and are often high in carbs.
And since we’re not doctors, it’s best to consult with yours if you’re on a gluten-free diet and you want to eat keto bread.
If you eat keto bread, will it be good for your health? Well, you have to check the ingredients. For example, some keto breads are high in saturated fat. And high saturated fat is correlated with heart disease. It would also be good to know if the ingredients used in making the bread are real food ingredients. If the list contains only chemicals and additives, that particular bread is probably not healthy.
One last thing to remember is that keto bread may not have the same nutrients that can be found in whole grains, like vitamin B and plenty of other minerals.
Well, according to WebMD, it depends on the diabetes type. People with type 2 diabetes who are overweight generally get good results. But those with type 1 diabetes should consult their doctors first before undergoing a keto diet. Otherwise, they risk ketoacidosis, a dangerous condition that occurs when the body doesn’t have enough insulin and ketones build up too much. That will result in excessive thirst, excessive urination, confusion, and fatigue.
What does keto bread taste like? There are a variety of opinions like the bread taste too eggy, or like cardboard. But generally, if it’s not badly made, it should be totally fine. Of course, the best way to find out is to Google “keto bread bakery near me” and buy from those bakeries. See which one you like the most, then buy only that.
Is this type of bread fattening? Well, it depends. If it’s highly processed or improperly prepared, that might happen. Best to find out details from where you bought that bread!
For example, can keto bread cause constipation or diarrhea? Well, the answer is yes. Medical News Today says that despite the benefits of a keto diet, some might feel adverse effects like diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, and abdominal pain. It’s best to consult with your dietician or physician before you start eating pure keto.
Should keto bread be refrigerated? The answer is yes. The ingredients are too fragile for the bread to stay good at room temperature. In the refrigerator, the bread will last for two weeks. To store, wrap the bread in parchment paper.
If you find two weeks is too short for you, you might be wondering “can keto bread be frozen?” The answer is also yes. Best to keep the bread in a ziplock bag. You can store it for up to 6 months.
Are you now interested in trying out some keto bread? Well, you won’t exactly be able to buy keto bread instantly in say, SM Supermarkets or in stores. Not to worry though: there is plenty of keto bread in the Philippines – plenty of keto bread in Manila, in fact.
Of course, since it’s keto bread, it’s slightly more expensive. Plus, since different keto bread brands use different ingredients, each keto bread taste will not be consistent. So if you’re wondering “which keto bread is best,” you might end up buying plenty of options before getting your answer.
And that would be a waste of time and money.

]]>And yes, these keto dessert options are sugar-free and still delicious. Pick up any of them, and you can be sure you’re still following doctor’s orders!
But before anything else, what exactly is keto? To be more specific, the term “keto” refers to a ketogenic diet. According to Healthline, it’s a low-carb, high-fat diet that offers many health benefits.
Undergoing this diet has many health benefits, so many people choose to switch to this lifestyle. One of the benefits is weight loss. Going keto may also help protect you against diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, and even Alzheimer’s disease.
So, a little disclaimer before we continue: we’re not doctors or nutritionists. We’re just sharing with you what we know. If you want to try a ketogenic diet, consult your physician.
Anyway, when you do this diet, your goal is to achieve ketosis. Ketosis is a metabolic state where your body uses fats instead of carbs for fuel. To reach ketosis, limit your carbohydrate intake to a certain amount and fill up on fats instead.
Well, to put things simply, all the meal plans you will make? None of them will involve any carbohydrates or sugar whatsoever. That means you’ll say goodbye to silvanas, brownies or cookies, Spanish bread, and more.
If you love sweets and carbs, that last sentence probably made you shudder with displeasure. But as we mentioned, there are various keto dessert foods that you can eat instead. They taste sweet but are practically 0 carb sweets.
What’s on this keto dessert list? To be honest, if we wrote everything down, it would take us DAYS. So what we’ll do instead is mention just a few keto desserts we find delicious.
So, something to consider is that most of them will be made with almond flour or coconut flour. Artificial sweeteners or monk fruit give that sweet taste. They will taste a bit different from the usual taste of our favorite desserts but are still delish keto desserts.
(For a list of keto-friendly ingredients, check out this article from Good Housekeeping.)
In short, you don’t have to say goodbye to your favorite treats. You just have to find desserts that are keto-friendly.
What the heck are fat bombs, you ask? Well, they’re dense balls that are full of fat-rich ingredients, like coconut oil and avocado. They can make you feel full at once and satisfy your sweet cravings.
So anyway, these cheesecake fat bombs taste like a peanut butter cheesecake and make a great snack. Make sure you keep them on hand for any sudden sweet cravings. You can also enjoy them for breakfast (cause why not?) or as snacks.
This is one of the usual keto desserts you can buy. Who says you can’t enjoy chocolate cake while you’re on keto? You won’t have to forego eating this classic dessert. Just substitute regular flour for almond flour, and you’re good to go!
Does eating brownies give you comfort? Well, even if you switch to a keto diet, you can still enjoy them! Carb-free brownies are possible. We bet you won’t even notice the difference in taste!
Did this surprise you? Yes, you can still eat one of the most delicious kakanins ever! You can breathe a sigh of relief, especially since December is coming up. It would be a sad Christmas if you couldn’t eat bibingka. Let’s hope more keto Filipino desserts come out.
Yes, there is such a thing as keto ice cream! You won’t have to worry about your cool, sweet cravings being left unfulfilled. Different flavors are possible as well.
A mug cake is literally a cake inside a mug. Mug cakes are popular as dessert foods because they’re good enough for one serving. If you’re the only one who is going to eat a cake, you won’t want to make a whole cake, right?
So anyway, a keto mug cake is possible, and with different flavors too!
If you want to eat a pie instead of a cake, you can! Just make sure that your pie crust is made with low-carb ingredients. Also, the toppings can be chocolate or fruits. To keep with the low-carb theme, make sure to find out which fruits are keto-compliant. Avocado is an example of a fruit you can eat while on a keto diet.
Keto egg custard? Why not? This baked dessert is smooth, thick, and creamy and tastes just like the usual custard.
A carrot cake is another classic dessert. And yay, celebrate, because you won’t have to stop eating this either! A good keto carrot cake is one that is so moist and delicious, no one will know it’s made from keto ingredients.
If you like unusual desserts, matcha is for you! It’s already non-overly sweet, then when made with a keto-friendly recipe… Well, let’s just say it’s perfect. You might have to stop yourself from eating too much!
If you’re a cheesecake lover, you might be sad that we didn’t mention cheesecake at all in the list above. Well, there’s a reason for that: we saved the best of the keto dessert foods for last.
We have a new class: Keto Cheesecakes!
Our newest instructor, Ms. Chiqui Dingcong, will be teaching this class. She’s the best person to teach it because she herself is currently living the ketogenic lifestyle.
